Workplace Emergency first Aid and CPR (OFA 1):

About This Course

  • 8 hours course with flexible scheduling options
  • 3 year certification in Occupational First Aid Level 1 (OFA 1)
  • Includes CPR Level A + AED (CPR information is enhanced to meet specific workplace needs)
  • Course content concentrates mostly on emergency situations that can occur in an indoor work environment, e.g. office (focuses on sudden cardiac arrest, airway emergencies and life threatening illnesses).

Who Should Attend

  • Any employee can attend this course. Participant must be 16 years old and over.

  • Preparing to Respond & Prevention of Disease Transmission
  • Patient evaluation
  • CPR and Automatic External Defibrillator (AED)
  • Wound care – Cuts, Burns, Eye injuries, Bleeding
  • WorkSafe BC Reports & Paperwork
  • Airway and breathing emergencies and management – Choking, Allergies, Asthma, Hyperventilation
  • Circulation emergencies management – Angina, Heart attack, Stroke, Severe bleeding
  • Sudden medical conditions- Diabetes, Seizure, Fainting
